Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky

breech of contract

I am an independant contractor who worked for a KY based company under a contract specifying daily pay plus bonuses. On my last trip with the company, after breaking down with a transmission problem, my boss told me he could no longer pay pay me what was on the contract. Because I was stuck out in Arkansas without money or a car I verbally agreed to take a reduction in pay to finish out the trip. I had no choice but to agree since I needed to make money to get back home. After looking at our original contract, I read where all verbal agreements are not binding. Doesn't he still owe us what the contract states? It comes to over $500, but he has more money to fight me than I to fight him. Do I have a case worth pursueing? And where do I turn if I do decide to fighht him? This is a two party contract as my friend and I both had a contract with him. Thank- you. Hope to hear back soon

Re: breech of contract

Small claims court, as I indicated in my private email response, would appear to afford an appropriate remedy for your situation.
