Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky
Can an hourly worker be required by his/her employer to "donate" time without pay to work special events or functions.

That depends on what those functions actually are, and what the purpose is. If those functions are directly work related, then no, not as an hourly worker. The donation is just working without compensation, which isn't permitted. If it's something like, all employees are asked to do a set amount of hours of volunteer work for local charities, etc., on their own time, then that is probably fine, unless there is some connection or relationship with the charity and the business.
