Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky
I recently quit Taco Bell and I am 17 years old. They were working me up to 11 hours a week. When I closed, they would clock me out at 1 am and I wouldn't get out of there until around 4 am. Also, my clock-out slips say that I have 91.05 hours for the period. But, my check says a little over 70. They were cheating me out of hours. What could I do about that? Who should I contact?
The General Manager wouldn't hire my husband. But, there are two couple already working there and work the same shifts. She was hiring other people but refused to hire my husband. I thought this was very unfair. Is this discrimination?
Also, one of the managers sexually harrassed me. What should I do about that?

They don't have to hire anyone they don't want to, unless their reason is illegal (i.e. racial or gender discrimination, etc.).
If you are not being paid for hours you have worked, you should consult the large poster that should be hanging in the restaurant that has the labor laws printed on it. There is a phone number on there for the state, to make wage and hour complaints. You can speak with them about sexual harassment as well.
