Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kentucky
Landlord problems
Our landlord of 4 years, keeps changing the rent and agreements of our lease. He has raised our rent twice in a year. We make all the repairs to the home, he is always busy because he is a pilot. He does a walk through every year and he wanted us to purchase this home on a lease purchase. I am a Realtor so I did my homework on the home and made him an offer. I think my offer made him mad. He came back with an out landish price for the home. He then raised our rent one hundred dollars in a paper taped to our door, this is what the bottom half read: Eff. Nov. 1, 2005 rent will be increase by 100.00 per month, an additional 150.00 will be needed to bring your last months rent up to these terms. How can he charge us 150.00 now when the increase doesnt start until November. He knows that we have been trying to improve our bad credit, due to an illness to our child and I feel he is taking advantage of this. He also imformed us that he doesnt want us to grill on the deck anymore because it is a fire hazzard, even though we have been grilling on it for four years, is all of this legal?
Thanks,
