Veterinarians cannot prescribe medicine to humans. To my knowledge, their licenses do not equate that of nurses in being able to pass meds prescribed by another medical professional licensed to do so. However, if it is a situation where a veterinarian is giving an insulin shot to his aging mother, that should not be a problem.
