Re: discharge

Your daughter, with your permission, signed a contract for a full enlistment term. She is obligated by law, enforceable through a criminal prosecution, to complete that enlistment. The first few weeks are the hardest adjustment to make to military life. There's nothing about military life she can't handle if she puts her mind to it. She needs your support to carry on and make it through. She will think of herself as a failure the rest of her life if she quits now. Tell her to "get her girl on!" Suck it up and complete the training like she knew she could when she started. This is only a negative attitude which she has the power to change to positive. Besides, she doesn't need to start her adult life as a convict. They will court-martial her if she deserts her unit. She will go to jail and will be at a disadvantage for jobs and education forever. Please encourage her to complete basic training. It will get better after that.
