Legal Question in Military Law in Kentucky

discharge/felony?/difference in BCD and Dishonorable

Recieved bad conduct discharge in 69. Broke a couple of windows in a bathroom for $67 in damages. Back then I believe that the money value cutoff was $100 pus for a felony in civilian law. Recieved 1 year in Leavenworth USDB. Am I a felon? Is there a way to ask for an upgrade after 36 years? What difference is there between a Dishonorable Discharge and a Bad Conduct Discharge? I can't find any differences in them as far as job or loss of benifits/ jobs, etc. If there is no difference then why do the 2 seperate discharges exist,.. that is why would they bother with one if the other is the same?
