Legal Question in Military Law in Kentucky
Military Dress Code
My military unit is holding a Christmas Ball at the cost of $30 per service member, with the additional cost of $30 per date. They will be serving alcohol at this event, which is not located at the installation. Furthermore, all military members have been instructed that they must wear their dress blue uniform. My date is also in the unit. Does she have to wear her uniform as well (would rather wear a dress)?

Re: Military Dress Code
Since she is a member of the unit, the required uniform for the event applies equally to her, regardless of her preference for a dress. It is each service member's military duty to appear in the prescribed uniform at any official function. To do otherwise is an orders violation and could subject her to adverse administrative action.
