I am confused as to why an insurance company was insuring a vehicle not actually owned by their insured. However, it is my understanding of Kentucky law that the owner of the vehicle and the tort feasor (being the individual who committed the act which caused the harm, in this case, the 25 year old who caused the accident) who are on the hook for liability in the accident, not dad. I'd suggest keeping in touch with the insurance company and finding out if they're going to settle it out for policy limits, or if they're going to deny the claim, etc.
