Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

My Aunt passed away and the bank is suing my Mom...

My Aunt, who was married at the time, passed away and the Bank is suing my Mom, Aunts and Uncle for the amount of the loan......Is this even possible? She was married at the time and this doesn't seem right to me plus how did they get all the information (addresses, etc....) Anyone have any advice I can give my Family...It's bad enough we suffered the loss, now this.

First, see the attorney handling the estate. If you do not have one, get one. You do not give me enough information to guide you here. More than likely, there was a mortgage and the bank is trying to enforce it. Has the estate been probated? was there a will? How did your aunt and uncle hold title to the property? Did she own it prior to marrying your uncle? The bank can sue under the right circumstances.
