Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky
Law evicts renters for non-owners!!!
Some of my real estate is in litigation but I have the most recent deed. In the meantime I have been repairing and trying to rent my building out. There are these people who have a copy of an out of date deed (12-2002), mine is 2-2002, who are causing problems with anyone I rent to. They have run off 2 renters this week with the last one catching me out of town and calling the county law to evict the tenants. The county law believed the deed they had was valid and told my renters to leave. I am at a loss as to what to do now. I feel the county law was acting beyond their means since they had no way of knowing who owned the land except by reading a copy of a deed that is no longer valid. I was out of town when this happened or I could have presented my deed. What can I do??
BTW, I caught these people stealing my roofing materials last week and obtained a warrant but I have been told the county has yet to serve it on them even though they were in contact when running my renter off.

Deeds do not expire and get "out of date". Who did you buy the property from? What do they say?
How is it that the property is in litigation and you are not. I think that you have some serious problems in either understanding what you have or in your chain of title. The only way that you are going to get any answers is to consult local counsel and let them run a title exam. You should have had the title examined prior to purchase.
