Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

Paying for repairs

I was just informed by our landlord that we have to pay to get our heat fixed. The landlord said that we are responsible for all repairs. It isn't in our lease about that. Is there anything I can do about getting him to fix the heat or can I break my lease if he doesn't agree to fix it? We live in Eastern Kentucky and it has already started getting cold.

Thank you!!!

Re: Paying for repairs

normally when you rent premises in which to live, the landlord is responsible for providing a habitable space and that includes providing for the repair to a permanent heat fixture such as a furnace or even an installed stove unless the lease specifies otherwise.
