Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

Possession of Purchased Forclosure Property

My husband and I have purchased a home at a Master Commissioners Auction. What is the legal process to gain possession of this property? Order Confirming Sale states the sheriff is directed to place the Purchaser in possession of the property. How does this process work? Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: Possession of Purchased Forclosure Property

If the occupant does not move, you ask the Court to have him removed. This is where the Sheriff physically moves the occupant and his/her/their possessions. Legally, this cost is supposed to be paid by the occupant but in reality, the reason they were foreclosed on was that they did not have any money. In order to get it done, you may have to pay. The Court does not have any separate resources to do this and the Sheriff works on mostly a fee system.
