Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

Selling a multi-owner real estate property

My home is being acquired in a local airport authority buyout. The house was owned by my parents, who are now deceased. The house was left to me and my 5 siblings. My handicapped sister and I live in the house. How do we go about selling, when there are 6 owners? The other 4 siblings have their own homes, and do not object to me using the proceeds to buy another house. Do I need to have a legal document drawn up giving me the power to sell the house, or would all 6 signatures be needed? The house is paid for, but the title is still in my parents's names. I had an opportunity to make an even swap for a brand new house, yet to be built. But there was a problem with there being more than one owner, instead of just one. I would appreciate any help in this matter. Thank you!

Re: Selling a multi-owner real estate property

You need to get an attorney who is familiar with wills, and probating property. You will need to get a document from the court if your parents name has not been removed if you haven't got one at the time they died and you can get a power of attorney but it is probably just as easy to get them to sign a deed. But, see an attroeny, because I don't know the law in your state.
