Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

Won't sign over deed

My wife and I bought a lot from her brother in 2000. He has put us off and won't sign over the deed. He wants to put restriction on the lot now so we can't use it. What can we do to get are deed. Thanks Matt

Re: Won't sign over deed

If there was a written agreement, then you can file suit for him to comply with the agreement. If there was no written agreement as such, then it becomes more complicated. This is a situation where you need to speak with someone face to face. Most attorneys are very reasonable in initial consultation and I think that you need to speak with someone locally. He will be able to ferret out the essential facts by asking you the right questions. I would not be able to give a full answer for the reason that the full situation is not described. For this, you need local counsel. There is little that I can do in this space.
