Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky
my uncle wants to stop me from getting a deed made
my grandma recently gave me 1 and a half acre of land my grandma agreed to go to the lawyers with me to have the deed made, but when we arrived at the lawyers office he explained to me that my grandma had transferred all her property into my uncles name,so i would have to get his signature also to finish the deed.so we all agreed to meet back at my lawyers office as soon as he got the paperwork ready, then i get a call from my lawyer stating that he cant find the property in my uncles name or my grandmas name.and my uncle just went to my dad last night and threatened him and claimed that he owned the land and we would never get it and so on.i cant believe he would do this to us and we dont no why he did it unless its so he can log the timber on the land or just for the fact that he owns the land now or whatever his reason is we dont no. i told him he could just keep the land if he was lowdown enough to hurt my grandma that way and me and my family.i dont want anything to happen to my grandma or my dad so that is why i need your help .if my grandma is still alive and she says that she gave me the land before my uncle got it do i have any rights at all? thank you

Whoever has the deed in their name is considered the owner. Oral agreements have no authority on the subject of real estate. Why don't you ask your attorney to check the title and see what happened.
