Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky

My brother in law passed away in KY. My husband, only living relative, went to probate and got a order to dispense with property. Thought he was beneficiary of life insurance. Found out the beneficiary was my father in law (passed away in 2006). Going round and round with insurance company because of funeral bill. Now it looks like they are going to put it in my brother in laws estate. Since we got the order to dispense with property when he passed, what the heck do we do now? Take it all to probate? All the creditors have been told there was no estate and no money and have all agreed to write off bills. Help

We live in GA and he lived in KY and to run back and forth is impossible.

Sounds like you will be best served by hiring a local attorney to handle the matter for you, since you live out of state. The probate matter will have to be reopened due to the life insurance going to the estate.
