Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky

Is she still entitled after a lot of years?

My mother-in-law was made beneficiary of her aunt's life insurance. The lady died in 1987 and my mother-in-law could not be at the reading of the will, although she did get a letter stating that she should be there. Nothing was ever said about the will, the insurance policy, and my mother-in-law only found the letter again this week. What should she do?

Re: Is she still entitled after a lot of years?

Contact the executor of the estate, notify the insurance company and claim the proceeds. The company should still have the proceeds available and likely they have been bearing interest. They may never have been notified of the death.
