How can an executor find out if there is any bank accounts or certificate of deposit, or insurance policies that belong to the deceased.

The attorney that represents you can give you this information and can do it for you. Generally, the Executor or Administrator, once appointed by a court, stands in the same position as the deceased person and can go to any bank and ask. You must take a certified copy of the order appointing you as Executor or Administrator.
