Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky
My father in law passed away and left everything to his wife. Why would the lawyer want a list of all of his assests- including all of his tools. I understand assests as his house and car but why tools. He didn't work in a speciality area and need special tools. They were just for working around the house. Thanks

Because an inventory of all property of value has to be made. I'm certain they don't care about $5 screwdrivers, but things like a circular saw or a big drill or something of that nature would need to be listed in the probate paperwork, as well anything else of value he owned.
