Gas royalties

My nephew has inherited gas wells from his grandmother. For now the royalties are being deposited into the estate. When does he begin to receive the royalty?

Re: Gas royalties

If she left them to your nephew directly, then he should be able to get them now, unless the estate needs the money to pay expenses then he should get them when the estate is closed out. She may have placed some restriction on the payout. I do not have the will in front of me and really cannot give you a more specific answer. Speak to the Executor or go to the District Court Clerk or County Court Clerk and get a copy of the will. If you suspect that something is wrong, then take the will to local counsel and get direct advise from someone who can get mor facts than are available here.
