Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky

My grandfather died in 1944 with no will. He owned some property and the homeplace. My grandmother could not settle the property until my mother, the baby age 4, was 21. That never happened. The question is what did my grandmother own at the time of his death. Did she own anything? A widows dowry? Or as one of my uncles said "She didn't own anything". Are the children all equal owners in the property? Would like to finally settle this estate out, but I need to know what my grandmother owned because she left it to my aunt, her share if any, to my aunt. So, in the event of my aunts death, I need to know what she inherited from her mother, if anything.

This is more than you'll get from a free website, because it'll take some research on what the intestate inheritance law was in 1944. Seek a consultation from an attorney who practices trusts and estates, and you will probably have to pay for that consultation because of the research involved.
