Being born outside of wedlock does not give children any different status than those born in wedlock. The illegitimate children have the same inheritance rights as those born within a marriage. Also, whether a child has a relationship with the parent or not does not determine whether or not the child can inherit. All children inherit equally under the law, when there is not a properly executed will in effect.
