Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky

Stepchildren estate rights-no will

My father died in Jan04 leaving no will. My step-brother says that everything is his now, since his belongings went to his mother (my stepmother). Stepmother is gravely ill. Stepbrother has her power of attorney and is liquidating all the assets, including items commonly known as my father's and grandparent's. Dad had expressed to many that these items should go to me at his demise and stay in the family.

Re: Stepchildren estate rights-no will

You need to consult an estate attorney. If your father left everything to your step-mother, then she may very well have the power to dispose of it.
