Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky

I have been working with an attorney to probate my mother's estate. We were in the final stages of the process. It has been a year since we started. Now, the lawyer has contacted me to say she has lost all the paperwork, and I will have to pay to have it all redone. This also includes the land survey, which will cost $1200 she said to redo that alone. What should I do? Should I file a complaint? The lawyer is no longer answering or returning my calls.

How does one "lose" paperwork of that nature, exactly? I would send her a letter and say, since the mistake was hers, she can either take care of it by a certain date (without passing the cost onto you), or her malpractice insurance will cover the cost of it, after you make a complaint with the KBA.
