Legal Question in Immigration Law in Korea (South)
International marriage -
Hi!
I have a friend in India who is married to a Korean national (although their marriage is not yet
registered in a Korean court). Her marriage is registered in an Indian court.
She is planning to go to Korea on a 3-month long Tourist visa. and then she plans to extend
her stay further.
My Question is:
1. Is her marriage (registered in Indian court) valid in S. Korea?
2. Can she apply for an extension while she is in Korea? OR does she have to go back to India
(her port of departure) and then enter Korea again?
3. What is a ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Regards,

Re: International marriage -
Whether Korea will recognize her marriage will depend on Korea's immigration policy. Visa to stay in Korea would be the same way. It actually depends on the diplomatic relation between India and South Korea.Alien registration card is green card. If you have any other immigration related questions...you can call me directly.
