Legal Question in Disability Law in Louisiana

I am on disability and only get $788.00 per month. My husband recently left me and so I don't have his income anymore. Due to default on a previous loan for $1500 to help fix his truck, I have received lawsuit papers from the finance company trying to place a lien on my home. I cannot repay this amount in full, as I am not even meeting my living expenses at this time such as utilities, groceries, gasoline and medications. What can I do, where can I get help?

They will have yo sue you before a lien is placed on your home. You should contact the Legal Services clinic in your area as you should fit financial criteria and case type. They will provide advice and representation if necessary. You have a $15,000.00 homestead exemption as to debts.
