Legal Question in Disability Law in Louisiana

Missed time at work

I'm a disabled veteran of 60%. I have medical conditions that I have no control over and sometimes it makes me miss work. My employer knew before they hired me that I was disabled. Now they are telling me that if I miss any more time I'm fired. Can they do this to me?

Without any more information, I say yes they can terminate you. If they pay you to work, then you need to work. Why haven't you applied for SS disability? With the right medical evidence you should be able to obtain the benefits. The usual routine is to file for disability and they reject you. You then appeal and they reject you again. You then ask for an Administrative Law Judge to hear your case. You will need medical back up and a good lawyer.
