Legal Question in Disability Law in Louisiana
Turned Down for Disbility
I am 51 yrs old now.At the age of 29 I had back surgery in Houston, Tx. I had a rupture disk removed and I have one in my neck and another disk that buldged out in the lower part of my back was not ever to lift anything over 5lbs.Since this surgery, my doctor has passed away. For 18yrs I did nothing but sit at home, so I applied for a job at Walmart here in Louisiana but I kept my surgery a secret knowing I would not be hired.I worked at walmart for about 2 or 3 yrs and during that time I fell on my back and reinjured my problems, but never told them about my back. I developed corpal tunnel in my left wrist but has some what eased but my back is worse. I no longer work at walmart. I quit. This has been about 3 yrs ago.Since then I applied for disiblity at the social security office and they sent me to their doctor here cause I had no recent doctor's report. The staff their checked my eyes by standing, and a young enturn did an exray and did not believe I had surgery so I showed him my scare. He act like nothing was wrong with me. These people worked for social security.I got a letter from social security turning me down.I cannot see good my eyes a have always been bad and my back is bad.I dont know what to do I have no money. Help me

Re: Turned Down for Disbility
Appeal the decision. In almost all cases, the original claim is denied at the 1st level. Don't quit because you will eventually get an administrative law judge to hear your case.
