Legal Question in Banking Law in Louisiana
Negative Bank Account Balance
Less than 2 weeks ago I deposited a check and the check didn't clear the bank. I was not notified by writing but contacted by the Police Dept to come in for questions about 1 check that had a negative balance of 808. I put the money in the bank and cleared the negative account now the bank still wants me to come in for questions and I don't have a clue as to why and I said I would get an attorney and they stated that I need to come in to speak with them for what. Please advise me on the rules on negative accounts and my rights. As far as showing up to the credit union and the sheriff office.

Re: Negative Bank Account Balance
Hire an attorney, who can make some calls to find out what is going on. Then, follow that person's advice.
It sounds like they may be after someone else, or, more likely, you know something that you don't want to tell them.
