Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Louisiana
exemptions
A friend of mine is considering filing bankruptcy and is wondering if he will be able to continue paying on his home and garage and just file for the credit card debt. He is able to pay for his home and land just not the credit cards. Will he continue to pay for his home if allowed to keep it as an exemption? He is considering filing chapter 7.Any advice you can give will be appreciated.

Re: exemptions
He should be able to file under chapter 7 and pledge to keep the debt associated with his house. This is called reaffirmation. Tell him to give me a call. My office handles cases in Louisiana. I'd be happy to speak with him about his specific situation. ph. (800) 303-0720
