Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Louisiana

I am trying not to file bankruptcy but have a voluntary repo of my son's car. i signed for it, he lost his job and is now in jail. we (i) owe 6k. when he was a minor, he beat up someone and we were sued the judgement for 5k, he doesn't work . how does this effect me as his parent, if i file bankruptcy would the repo and judgement also be inculded. need answers asap, going crazy...please, thanks in adavnce

You NEED to TALK � not post on some legal Q&A board � with a lawyer whom you can call YOUR lawyer (you need someone who lists themselves as a bankruptcy lawyer). Run an online search for "bankruptcy lawyer " to find many potential attorneys, call them up, interview them, and hire the one with whom you feel the most comfortable.

A bankruptcy may get rid of the repo debt; however, the money judgment sounds like it is made in restitution for a crime, which means it may be impossible to get rid of in a bankruptcy.
