Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Louisiana
Louisiana Bankruptcy
I have built up unsecured debt total. $120,000. I sold my house paid off the mort. to the bank(162k) and a second loan to mother in law(192k) got 50k at closing. took out 70k mort on my rent house(value 80k) and moved in. I lost all the money from both closings gambling. I've only worked the last 4 out of the last 8 months and earned 15k in this time. my spouse works and earns 2000 per month. we owe exactly what our car is worth. other car my spouse bought for 3k. worth about 4k wholesale. we have no other real assets. All the unsecured debt is in my name... not my spouse. I have quit gambling. I havn't taken a cash advance in at least 70 days. nor have I charged luxury items. I want to file chapter7 individual. but will the sale of the property or the loss by way of gambling of my cash or any other thing get in the way of a discharge?

Re: Louisiana Bankruptcy
You have more issues than can be addressed in an online inquiry. While I suspect bankruptcy is probably not an option for you at this time, you my still want to talk to an attorney about your situation.
