Dear LawGuru Friend,
I am a retired lawyer after 41 years of successful
law and trial practice in Louisiana, and I believe, yes,
indeed, you do have a right to charge. Now how much
is another question. At no charge, I shall be happy to
help you resolve that issue if you will but e-mail me your
name and phone number, and I will check the law and
current practices of the court where the garnishment
originated and let you know the present state of the law
and/or current practices in such cases. My e-mail address
Sincerely,
Hardy Parkerson, J.D. - Lake Charles, LA
