Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Louisiana

warehousing goods, bankrupt warehouse

what is legal impact on having goods, (coffee beans) stored in a warehouse nad whereby monthly rent is paid and the warehouse goes out of business, declares bankruptcy. how is the commercial vendor who rents this space protected and its goods ''insured'' or otherwise protected from loss due to the warehouse going out of business.

The warehouse going out of business should

not affect your ability to get your goods

out of the warehouse. They are not owned

by the bankrupt warehouse.

A quick application to the Court and the

Trustee in Bankruptcy would surely permit

immediate action for perishables.

Otherwise, a more lengthy motion for

a release of the goods would be in order

Loss of lease, and lease space, is an

entirely different issue, and there you

may ultimately lose and have to find

someplace else to store the goods
