Legal Question in Business Law in Louisiana
A business where a family member works has asked for comments and suggestions. If I would give suggestions, is this family member subject to losing their job?

In Louisiana, most people are generally employed "at will," which means they can be fired for a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason, as long as it is not discriminatory or retaliatory. Now, if you make a comment and the employer fires your family member because of it, unfortunately there would be nothing that you or the family member could do about it in all likelihood. While that would seem "retaliatory," Louisiana's retaliation statutes only protect people in certain situations, and I don't think this is one of them.
