Lost my right to haul

A unique situation has arisen in oil field transportation. We must be leased to a major carrier in order to haul for major oil companies. Through our leases the carrier has gained complete control over who, when, what, how, where and for how much we can haul equipment. I cannot haul for service companies I have done businnes with in the past. Not only have the carriers signed these contracts/alliances to exclusively haul the oil companies equipment but have fixed these rates without any consideration given to the independent trucker. This issue has become very complicated and we don't know where or who to turn to?

Hauling Rights In The Oil Patch

I would suggest that you loge complaints with the State and U.S. Attoney General, The State and U.S. Department of Transportation, and contact your U.S. senators. This could get to be a very expensive case to fight on your own. Do you know other haulers that are having the same problem? Banding together with other haulers may help. What organizations represent haulers? Have you tried contacting them? The questions you ask potentially raise issues of antitrust, unfair competition, and price fixing. I would need to meet and review the paper work and facts in more detail, in order to give you a more educated opinion, and I don't charge for an initial consulation.
