Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

My 4th great grandfather had 166 acres of homestead land and divided the land among his children and there children for there children. Which leads to my grand mother father who pass away in 1974. Some of my grandmother siblings did a session and left her out. I ran across another session that was done after the first ssession and she was included in that session under both of her parents. My grandmother pass away in 1981 and my mother who pass away in 2010 didn't know anything about the land as well. There are family members who lives on the land and have been receiving minerals/ royalites from oil drilling since around 1982 and maybe before that and now they are starting to drill for gas in the same area. Me and my sibling do not know what portion of land that belongs to my grandmother. Myself and my siblings would like to have a session done to add my mother and ourselves to the session. We would also like to know what we should do in reference to claiming our grandmother and mother portion of the land and see what rights we have to the oil and gas royalities/mineral rights. Perhaps back time rights as well. Thank you for your help.

Take your problem to an attorney in the Parish where the property is and explain it to him. He can look up all the successions and determine if your relatives were ever left out. There may have been wills somewhere along the line that left your side out of the inheritance......then again maybe not.
