Not excellent. It is not unusual for a domestic partner to change her mind about testifying in an abuse case. In years gone by, that would have been enough for the DA to drop the charges. However, nowadays, the DA will continue on with the case most times and will have the police testify about the aftermath of the abuse that they saw (your busted lip).

I think you need to think long and hard before you act here. I do realize that the rules as they are now can sometimes bring an innocent man to jail for an abuse that did not really occur and that should be changed. However, in your case, this man busted your lip and you were pregnant. The fact that you are just as guilty of hitting him (and you should be ashamed of yourself for hitting someone and endangering your baby like that) does not justify his hitting a pregnant woman. If he struck a pregnant woman for ANY reason, he deserves to be prosecuted.
