Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

False Arrest

My son was employed with GENERAL STORE. He was arrested for theft by the store assess manager, who hell him in a room for about an hour and told to write a statement saying that he took over $2000 worth of merchandise and the, CITY POLICE. The charge was drop at the beginning of the trial when there was no proof or evidence that he took the merchandise. He was put in jail and given a $10,000 bond. I had to pay $1380 to get him out of jail. He could not leave the state of Louisians. He was a senor in high school at the time.

He only worked at the store three to four hour after school, maybe four days a week.

Can I file a civil sue against general store?
