Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana
My family member of mine was arrested for Online Solicitation of a minor. Last time he talked to his court appointed lawyer the lawyer was saying that the district attorney was asking this lawyer about his case. Saying something about the statute of limitations getting close and they were trying to push him to a trial. Well the lawyer wasn't ready to do so yet because he wanted to push the case to the supreme court for it being unconstitutional. Anyways my question is what is the statute of limitations of this type of case in Louisiana? That's where the case is going on. This April I believe will be three years his case has been going on. If the attorney mentioned it the last time wouldn't it be 3 years? If so is it three years from the day the person is arrested or is it three years after the date of arraignment? I would imagine it's from the date of arrest, but I don't know the law that's why I am asking the professionals. Thank you for reading this I'm interested in getting an answer.

P.S.: Your relative should do all within his
power to not plead guilty nor be convicted
of a so-called "sex-offense", as convicted
"sex-offenders" are generally abused for
years and years--if not for life--by the so-called
