Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

do i have the right?

OK...so i dated this girl and gave her a ring and some of my belongings. Well her mother doesn't like me because of my race, made us break up, and currently has all of the possessions that are rightfully mine in her home. Do I have the legal right to go over there and get my items or stay there until she gives them to me?

Re: do i have the right?

No. You have a right to your things but must go through legal steps. First contact the police. In some cases they will go with you and talk to the other people and you might get your stuff back. Otherwise you will have to go to court. Get a lawyer if the things are worth something to you. You could try to go through the clerk of court and see if they will help you if you do not want to get an attorney.
