Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

Police Brutaliry

I have won a court room battle involving a police officer with false accusations against me. I am looking for an attorney because this officer assaulted me physically and verbally. How do I find an attorney in my area? and how do I proceed in ''fixing the problem?''

Call your local bar association for a list of lawyers who handle Personal Injury cases. Consult one or more of them - the initial consultation and case evaluation is usually done at no cost - ask first.

You can call your local bar association, or simply look in the phone book. Another source would be the Louisiana State Trial Lawyers Association in Baton Rouge. My personal suggestion would be ask trusted friends who have knowledge of attorneys in your area. Speak with several and trust your feeling about who can best serve your interest. Easy access, willingness to answer your questions and to take the time necessary to make you feel comfortable are essential. The initial consultation should not cost anything. Good luck.
