Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

here's the question I was just told by one of my friends that I have court in New Orleans Louisiana on March 31st but I was never served any papers do I have to go to court it is a contempt of court case and i live in kansas city Missouri

If you were never served, the proceedings would not be valid against you. However, if you ever got served at any time, or if someone at your house was served via domiciliary service or long-arm service, you have been served. You should hire an attorney to go down there, see what is going on, and look in the record for you. You won't lose your right to argue that there is no service by having an attorney go for you and the attorney can't be served in your place if you weren't served. If you were served, hiring an attorney could save you a lot of grief. I strongly suggest you hire a local attorney.
