I want to know what rights I am protected from in the case of me going to a scho

I went to a middle school to express my displeasure of the proceedures in which corporol punishment is being administered and the rights of the children to not be degraded and spanked in the view of other children There is no need for corporol punishment to be immediate and to be witnessed by other children for the form of intimidation. this is a common practice at this school and is causing mental stress on alot of the students. Also what protection do I have under law to protect me from a principle writing a letter to my job about the conference stating that I am unprofesional in dealing with her. I went to the school as a concerned parent and in hopes of stopping other children from getting publically humiliated. Also tell me what recourse would I have because I work for the federal government and this person is creating job problems over a public issue. How can I stop her.

For a principal to write such a letter is totally uncalled for, and could be grounds for legal action. Report it to the school superintendant. If necessary, you can go to a school board meeting and see who the local news reporter is that covers that board and if all else fails report the matter to the reporter. All public bodies hate adverse publicity. Before all that, make absolutely sure the actions of the school are out-of-bounds. Today, many parents blame everyone else when their children whine, so investigate fully, and always act professionally.
