My son has robbed someones house, And the house owners are not charging him, this incident was 2-3 months ago, he is 14 year olds, My question is, What will the state police do to him, if the house owners DID NOT press charges. And another question it is his first " Burglary charge" will it stay in his records forever, Denying him every job? or erased at 18?
1 Answer from Attorneys
First he is a child and will be prosecuted in juvenile court. All juvenile records are confidential and he will start with a clean record at 17 which is the age of majority for criminal purposes. The prosecutor decides whether to proceed not the victim. You should immediately get this child some help, there is something wrong for him to commit this very serious offense. He could be placed in a juvenile facility until he is 20.
