what happens if never convicted of drug charges and 6 years later they appel your case

If you were acquitted then the prosecutor (I presume that's who you mean by "they") can't appeal regardless of how quickly she acts. If your jury hung there is no judgment to appeal, at least not right away. The prosecutor may have the option of appealing a sentence she thinks was too lenient, but six years is probably much too long to wait.
(A Louisiana lawyer could tell you what the filing period is, but I'd be surprised if it was more than a few months, let alone six years.)
