contractor company fraud

I paid an individual for work by a

contractor. Can i sue the contractor?

I signed a company's contract, but

wrote the check directly to the

salesman, who said he was the area

manager.

As long as the individual had apparent authority to act on behalf of the contractor you may be able to collect from the contractor. There are more issues that need to be discussed.
