Legal Question in Construction Law in Louisiana
disaster issue.
i hired a contractor to tear down a building which contained asbestos in it. the contractor tore it down 85% without checking for asbestos- the contractor was stopped from disposing by the epa, also he also recieved permit from the city and i am unsure if he recieved one from the epa. my question is- i was the owner of the property I did not have any knowledge about the asbestos, although i believe as a contractor, a contractor should be aware of asbestos terms and regulations am i correct?

You both should be aware of the law, but obviously you both weren't, which happens all too often. I hope you had insurance covering this. You should get yourself an attorney, especially if you didn't have insurance.
