Legal Question in Construction Law in Louisiana
I have entered a contract with a plumber to complete a building project. Towards the end of the job I received a bill from the company via email. I had he funds pulled to cover the cost of job. The last day the contractor was present he handed me a different bill with an addtional 1400 dollars added to it. I refused to pay the additional funds and he left the job and did not complete the work. Are there any actions I can take??

The workman and you are both bound by the original agreement you entered into. Any changes usually must be in writing and agreement is evidenced by your signature on changes. If he fails to complete the work in 45 days without a valid reason, you can file against him civilly and criminally. You should contact the licensing board for plumbers and make a complaint also.
